Kosher eating places in Modiin

Someone has just asked about kosher eating places in Modiin. I would like to create a list of kosher eating venues that are in
Modiin or close by. If you have eaten at a restaurant, coffee bar, pizzeria or anywhere else  that has a kosher certificate, please e-mail to michael@bloomhousing.com with details. I will publish a list on the website. Readers will be able to describe their experiences eating out in the "kosher eating out experience" section on the forum. I am sure this will be a great service to all who enjoys eating out  good kosher cuisine .

Looking  forward to your e-mails

Dogs

Its very annoying, that walking in a park or pavement in Israel, is akin to walking through a minefield. One has to concentrate on each step so as not to tread on a big pile of dog's mess. Many dog owners have become more aware and are now picking up their dog's mess, but there is a great majority that just don't care. Its a shame that in a country where green parks are few compared to many countries, that Israeli dog owners can act so irresponsibly and ruin what is so beautiful. Its the children who mainly suffer. Think of the poor child walking to school and treading on filthy dogs excrement. The little toddler who crawls on the green lawn straight through a stinking lump of smelly  mess. What about children playing ball in the park and having to steer clear of  excrement left by uncaring dog owners. Not only can dog mess  cause dangerous health hazards, its shocking that people who supposedly love dogs have so much disrespect for their fellow humans. At the end of the day, dogs suffer too, because people become antagonistic against them because they turn their  attractive surrounding neighbourhoods into dog toilets and therefore work earnestly to get bye laws passed, so that dogs are limited to where they can walk. I have seen people, instead of picking up mess, cover it with sand that little children are supposed to play in. Please, dog owners of Israel, take responsibility of you doggy friends, and make sure you pick up their mess. You are ambassadors of your dogs, and its your duty to make sure they leave behind  clean streets and parks , that are  a joy for all to use.

Knesset

The Knesset's winter session is opening on Monday. I hope that decisions made by its members, will be made for the good of Israel, and not for members own personal gains. Unfortunately, I am embarrassed by the way MK's insult each other in debates, and the total lack of respect they show to each other and for  the people of Israel. There are so many difficult and demanding problems that Israel has to deal with, it is frightening to see how useless and ineffective our parliamentary representatives are. Its a shame that each member does not have to answer to the common voters and not by being elected by party members. The standard of our leadership is a far cry to those that helped to build our country. Israel needs to be a shining star in the eyes and hearts of Jews throughout the world, but because of weak and useless politicians, we are suffering from terrible economic hardships, dangerous roads, and atrocious planning of infrastructures, that many Jews steer clear. Everyone seems to pass the buck from one office to another, and meanwhile millions of wasted dollars disappear whilst the Israeli public wait for promised projects to get finished.

Lets hope finally that things will change, buy I fear that tomorrow the media will be flooded with new scandals born by inadequate minds that have bullied themselves into comfortable armchairs!!!

Muslem Silence

When an extremist Muslim group sends armed terrorists to viciously murder innocent Israeli citizens,  like the attack in the Hadera market yesterday, when a suicide bomber blew himself up, murdering 5 innocent citizens, the Muslim world remains silent. When a dangerous terrorist like Louey Saadi, responsible for a number of  terrible and frightening suicide bombings and abominable terrorist attacks against innocent Jews, roams the streets, Muslims throughout the world remain silent, probably content with his beastly actions. When he is killed by Israeli security forces, making Israelis of all religions and opinions safer, the Muslim world, instead of rejoicing that a murderous villain, that has taken part in so many horrific atrocities has been wiped from our world, Muslims suddenly become loud and motivated, claiming how aggressive Israel is, and how their finest woman and baby murderer has been killed by those monstrous Jews that should all be wiped out during the Jihad destruction of Israel. There is no Muslim that I have heard condemning this brutal murderer, Saadi. One may think that I am a fanatic, or dislike Muslims. First, I respect all religions and faiths, as long as they don't cause suffering to others. I have friends of many faiths and political beliefs, but I will never tolerate those that talk of violence or spew hatred. Secondly, all one has to do is read the words spoken by the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on Wednesday,  that Israel should be 'wiped off the map." Or in other words:  Establishment of Israel offensive move; Islamic nation will not let its historic enemy live in its midst.

Where are the Muslim's now? Why don't they speak up against such aggressive and frightening rhetoric? Why are Muslims silent?

My answer is that an enormous number of Muslims throughout the world have an intrinsic hatred of Israel and the Jewish people, many of those that live in Western countries feel it is politically unfit to spout out death to Israel and its Jews, so they remain silent. There are many Muslims that do want peace, and do not want Israel wiped out, but those are the minority, and if they remain silent, it will be very difficult and almost impossible to destroy world terrorism, and change the dangerous course our civilised world is taking. Most of those Muslims that do have logical and warm hearts that are  not stained with hatred and religious intolerance,  also sadly  remain silent whilst the earth rumbles with the disastrous acts their brothers are making.

Muslims, throughout the world, you are champions of silence, and experts in the art of rhetoric hatred towards Israel and its people, now is the time to change your tune, to talk of peace and love of all faiths and nations, and stand up tall and proud in your disgust and opposition to any terrorism wherever it may take place.

Dogs in Israel

Its hard being a dog in Israel. Dogs don't particularly like the long hot summers that hit Israel each year. They are always searching for a cool shady corner, or to curl up in cozy  part of an air conditioned room. Once the autumn arrives and the first rains wash away  the dust of the long arid summer, the dogs begin to perk up and smile. They seem to have more energy and taking them for a walk is a lot more fun. Its strange but as the weather cools, most Israelis long for the spring and the next summer, whilst our canine friends and ex Brits jump for joy  that cooler days have come. I personally really enjoy the long winter walks I take with my canine friends, and utilize the perfect conditions to train them. This is the best time in my opinion to join dog  training classes, whilst the dogs are most perky and full of energy. Just remember, training dogs should be a positive and enjoyable experience, and I believe  gentle and kind methods should be used. So if you want to raise the quality of life that you and your dog share together, then check out dogtraining@bloomhousing.com to find out details  about where your nearest recommended dog training group that uses professional and kind methods is situated.

Modiin Real Estate

If your looking for property in Israel, buying real estate in Modiin is a good and exciting choice. Positioned close to both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and only ten minutes from Ben Gurion Airport, this new town is not only an attractive investment for new immigrants, secular and religious, but it is also  the town of the future with a growing Anglo Saxon community. Take a look at the pictures in the photo galleries and look through http://www.bloomhousing.com to find out more about this exciting and dynamic city.

Pedestrian Crossing

I was stopped at a pedestrian crossing this morning, waiting patiently whilst a little frail old man with a walking stick crossed the road in front of me. To my surprise the car behind me hooted, and when I looked in my rear mirror I could see a middle aged man, red cheeked, shaking his hands, as if I was ruining his day by not killing the poor old man walking in front of of me, by running him over and clearing the highway for the rest of the traffic to zoom by. Last week 10 people were killed on Israeli roads; Is that not enough for those impatient and dangerous drivers?

Its strange, but I've noticed that if there is something alive and moving, crossing an Israeli road, for instance a dog or child or even a policeman, cars are almost certainly likely to speed up, even if they are stepping on pedestrian crossings, and if they don't kill whats there, its only because the creature or human managed to quickly get out of harms way. The odd thing is that if someone is dead, or injured, or a car is damaged by the side of the road, all these maniac drivers will suddenly slow right down causing enormous tail back traffic jams, and stare very observantly at the carnage, and just as they pass by, they immediately press their foot on the accelerator and speed off into the distance.

Nothing can stop this wild and illogical driving syndrome, than better education and better policing, ( I am always overtaken by a police car even if I'm driving at the maximum permitted speed). Older people need to set a better example, and very harsh punishments for drivers with a history of driving offences should be given. I believe drivers with more than 10 road offences in one year should not be allowed to ever have a driving licence again, because they obviously don't have the right personality or skills to drive safely. Its as simple as that! Every year there would be less and less dangerous drivers on our roads, and drivers with an accumulation of offences would begin to realize that they would need to invest in better training and would have to drive more carefully or they would not be able to drive any more.

Unfortunately there is nobody that has an real power that actually seems to care. Today $40 million dollars has been allocated to dealing with the threatening bird flu. Last week 10 people lost their lives on the roads and nothing has changed, same terrible carnage, same useless government officials that don't care about Israels greatest threat, its roads.

Building a Sukka

Now that Yom Kippur is behind us, Jewish people throughout the world are building their Sukka. In Israel, even non religious build them, one of the reasons why living in Israel is so important to me as a Jewish parent. My family has been working for the last few hours, building our temporary home that will entertain us for the next week. Each family takes a pride in being a  building contractor, making sure his construction will be stable against heavy winds, adding lighting, and decorating in a festive manner. In Israel the chance of rain is unlikely, so there can be no better country  than Israel to celebrate this wonderful holiday. So now I must return to helping my wife and children finish the Sukka. To everybody out there, have a Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach.

Shana Tova

Bloomhousing would like to wish all its clients a happy and prosperous new year. We hope that the new year will bring peace to our country, and the end to terrorism and religious hatred. Maybe this  is a naive a dream, but we must be optimistic and pray that the future for Israel and the world will be one of tranquility and economic stability. We know that so many Israelis are having to struggle to earn their living, so lets hope this year will be the turning point to economic security. We hope that the new year will be one where Israeli drivers will be more considerate, and will be more careful and patient whilst driving on our roads, and that the horrific number of road accidents in Israel will dwindle to just a few. For those who wish to take part in real estate transactions this year we wish you all a great success. The world is what we make it to be, we are responsible for our own actions, and with a little luck, and G-D's help, may the Jewish people all over the world  have a  wonderful Shana Tova.
