Modiin prepares for Hanukkah

In a few days time, most people in Modiin will be lighting Hanukkah candles. There can be no better place to be  in the world  during this festive time than being in the city of Modiin . In Modiin and its surrounding areas, once marched the Maccabees. Next week the city of the future remembers its heroic past.

Happy Hanukkah

Peretz's camp claim Sharon wants terrorist attacks

Peretz's camp claim Sharon wants to encourage terrorist attacks, and claims Sharon is doing his best to agitate the terrorists to murder Jews, as if they need any agitation. Bibi says, that Sharon plans to divide Jerusalem, even though Sharon has clearly stated the opposite. Silvan Shalom's likud followers say that if Bibi becomes leader of the Likud, they will vote Kadima. The president of Iran claims that the holocaust never took place , and even if it did, Israel should move to another destination like Alaska. Did he ever read the bible? Has he ever read about Moses? Penina Rosenblum has 5 more days left, after being sworn in to the Knesset yesterday to make an impression, before the knesset closes, until the elections. Two days ago a family of three tried to kill themselves by driving in front of a train, the 82 year old mother is seriously ill in hospital, and her two middle aged children were unhurt, ran off to  commit suicide by climbing  up an electricity pylon.

Only in Israel

What a mad and wild land we live in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pnina Rosenblum , New Colour to the Knesset

It was refreshing to watch Pnina Rosenblum make her first speech as MK yesterday. She seems to attract animosity and ridicule from every direction.  Even from women journalists, I heard one this morning on TV, criticising about the fact that she was photographed before swearing in, having her hair done, and that she owns a Mercedes car. Others complained that she would only be working for a few days and getting all the benefits of an MK. Many chuckled as she made her speech, and she was interrupted in the middle of it. I can only say that this hard working lady, has given many families a living,  from the media, to those working for her, and those selling her many products. She has worked hard to become a member of the Knesset ,MK. I am fed up with the likes of MK Omri Sharon who is possibly going to prison after admitting guilt to charged offences, or any of the other corrupt cronies that are Knesset members that have been found guilty of  illegal offences, or  listening to those that shout and swear abusive language at each other,  during Knesset debates.  The Knesset is filled with a great variety  of Israeli's, from religious to secular, from Arabs to Jews, men and women, and  from all political points of view. I can only say that this beautiful lady has painted a shining colour against the background of such a ponderous and often unshaven rabble that scream and insult each other during daily debate, and I hope that this lovely blond lady will succeed in offering a different approach to such a dull and sad clique, and she will prove to be a truly charming example of hard work, honesty and good manners , an icon of colourful light, an example to all.

To be or not to Bibi

I'm fed up with Bibi, always referring to Kadima party policies, that are leaked by  unknown persons to the media. Bibi, talk not about others, but about yourself and the policies that you believe in. The people of Israel have lost faith in their politicians. All we want is to hear each parties policies,  probably mostly lies anyway, and we will have to decide, who will be the best party from such a very corrupt and miserable bunch,  to vote for in the coming elections.

Mofaz Leaves Likud, Who Next?

Another Likudnik abandons ship. Defence minister Shaul Mofaz has decided to steer away from his Likud party and has joined Ariel Sharon's Kadima party. One wonders if he is the last to leave the Likud party, who he claims has gone far too right wing.

Modiin

I have always had a special affinity to Modiin. It has an air of youthfulness, in which new and relatively new properties, well designed, are built in a tasteful manner and paint a beautiful picture across the Jerusalem foothills skyline. The city is quiet, but that's the attribute that I love about it. The population is a quiet one, people getting on with their own lives, but most friendly and helpful. It may be that because most Modiin properties have large balconies and or gardens, people tend to have more space, this being a calming factor to a well behaved and calm town. It is also very interesting to note how religious and secular have such  good relations with each other, and respect each other's needs. Modiin has a few different neighbourhoods, most named after the architects that planned them. Modiin is a town with a future, its population dreaming of the time when trains, beautiful Anabe park with its boating lake and wonderful shopping centres will be a part of its life. The city is very close to Ben Gurion airport, half an hour from  both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. I personally love Buchman, a very nice neighbourhood in Modiin's southern region. This amazing neighbourhood is attracting a large Anglo Saxon community, which proves that high standards are its mark. I would not swap Modiin for any other part of Israel.

Dangerous Driving in Modiin

Yesterday morning was very foggy in Modiin. It didn't stop some people driving like lunatics, through windy foggy streets, uncaring that they could easily have run over pedestrians that they could not possibly  have seen. No police seemed to be about, and more by luck than judgement nobody was maimed or killed. At the local infant school parents park their cars at the most ridiculous and dangerous of places. When  I mentioned this in the past to the security guard, he told me its not his responsibility, if I told the school, they told me its the police who are responsible. Last week a jeep reversed over a little girl outside the school, leaving her seriously injured and in hospital. All of a sudden, but  probably only for a day or two, everybody appears responsible. Will it take loss of life (g-d forbid) before something is done that will have a lasting affect in protecting pedestrians in a City, where driving manners and police enforcing the laws of the road seem to co inside more along the lines of a formula 1 racetrack, than a populated town.

What do the Palestinians want?

A young Israel soldier was killed yesterday at a border crossing near Jerusalem yesterday. The crossing is used to allow Palestinians to cross into Israel to get to work. It appears that those antisemitic Palestinian Arab murderers feel it is more important to shed Jewish blood, than to worry and care for the needs of the majority of their Palestinians brethren. Most Palestinians  surely long for peace with their neighbours, so that they can easily cross the  border crossings to get to work and earn their living so as they can provide for their families. If it is the intent of the Palestinians to act in such a barbarous and hateful manner, why do they whine when Israel closes its borders. We in Israel open our hearts to those that wish to live in peace with us, but if that is just a fantasy or dream, is it not better that our border police lock the gates of insanity and leave those murdering low life behind closed borders, to sit with their Palestinian brothers in squalor, and wonder why their life is such a nightmare.

Smile of a satanic Muslim , Courage of a Jew.

Yesterday a Muslim in the duty of Islam blew himself up trying to murder and maim as many civilians as possible in a shopping mall in Netanya Israel. He succeeded in his devilish act by killing 5 people and injuring more than 40 innocent bystanders. Haim Amram, only 26 years old died as he took hold of the terrorist and moved him away as far as possible from the crowded area. A young and brave man, who shall always be remembered  by his super courageous act , that definitely saved many lives. Can you compare this Jewish man, who I am sure longed for peace with his Palestinian neighbours, and showed unbelievable courage in sacrificing his life to protect others, and this Muslim demonic fiend, who smiled nauseatingly just before setting of his murderous explosives. When will Muslim religious leaders throughout the world, stand up and show their own  courage, and disown those Muslims that take part in such terrible acts of  terrorism? In my opinion, every Muslim religious leader, if he resides in England, America, or any part of the world, who remains silent this morning, is making himself a partner to these maniacal acts of carnage. If I was a Muslim and my brothers did such terrible deeds, whilst Islamic religious leaders did  nothing to deter and prevent  these fanatical acts of hatred, I would prefer to be atheist or dead than be part of  a religion whose religous leaders excuse and justify this unceasing horrific and satanic behaviour.

Left, Right, Left Right, Stand at Ease with Kadima

Its interesting how so many politicians are attacking each other. In fact most of them seem rather drunk, wobbling from one side to the other, not sure of what direction to take in their political aims.. The right blame the left, the left criticise the right, both are bickering about the kadima  party whilst the Likud are fighting each other and the other parties. The left say they are too right, the right are planning their campaign on the idea that Kadima is a leftist party. Silvan Shalom tells us how Bibi and Mofaz are not reliable, whilst Peretz keeps screaming over his megaphone for Shimon, claiming that he needs him to stay and help him. Well Shimon has moved to Kadima, so one wonders how the inexperienced labour leader, who is an expert in organising national strikes that brought the country down to its knees many times, will manage to forge forward with his political goals alone. The advantage of Labour, is that the Likud seems such a dead end party that no one with the slightest of leftist leanings could ever vote for it any more. I am not interested in the political cliches from insignificant politicians, claiming that those that are joining the Kadima party are right or left in the political arena, or are disloyal to their party, or are quoted on what they have said against each other at past times and challenged on how they will now be able to work together in the same party. It is clear that whilst the left and right are meandering around their political beliefs, only the Kadima party seems to be marching forward in a straight and optimistic direction, the party is diffused with direction from many political points of views, one can see that  its members have realised, with courage and vision that walking a straight line through the center of the political arena is the best  and only alternative to the future of Israel, and by their actions, Israelis will be able to move forward towards peace with their Palestinian neighbours, whilst ensuring that the economy and education system in Israel will develop in a just and proper manner. Peretz has stopped at a danger sign, "danger Meretz Ahead", whilst the Likud are stuck in a traffic Jam, " accident! peace process crashed, keep to the right". Only kadima seems to be cruising along at a steady pace on the open road, which means if I had to decide on where to journey, I would surly choose the open road.

Happy Voting
