It is intolerable that Israel should have to suffer missile attacks, sent by those that wish to destroy her very existence. There is no country in the world that could ever except its neighbours launching deadly rockets aimed at its people. Israel has been willing to sacrifice many of its settlements at a tremendous personal and ideological cost, in order to offer peace and reconciliation. Unfortunately this has been interpreted by the Palestinians as an action of weakness, and their answer to Israel's olive branch, is to send a storm of missiles raining down on Israel. We are a small country, eager for peace, but we will never allow those whose very existence is based on hatred and violence to daunt us. Would Blair stand by quietly as missiles were G-d forbid sent daily on any part of Britain? Would Bush take no action if America was attacked? We know from recent history what they would do. Israel, the country whose people greet each other with the word Shalom, peace, is probably one of the most war fatigued countries in the world, its inhabitants have never known the feeling of peace without many its neighbours relentlessly seeking ways to terrorise and destroy her. We in Israel and all those who believe in world peace must stand by Israel, and all countries must stand firm in their fight against those ideologies that profess hatred ,violence and terrorism, so that one day those abominable beliefs will vanish from our lands and a new world where nations will stand united in friendship and trust will prevail , and battle courageously towards the great challenges that are facing mankind.
Hamas, if you continue to attack our people, we in Israel will stand by our Government, and you will never know a moment of tranquility, but if you renounce violence and terrorism, all in our region will benefit. Instead of tears flooding graveyards, Palestinians and Israelis will have a truly wonderful future, of tremendous economic growth, and peace which I pray is the will of the majority of the Palestinians people. The ball is in your court!!
