Buchman House Sold for $600,000

According to one of Modiin's local newspapers, a luxury house in Buchman has been sold for $600,000. The newspaper claims that the price paid is the highest for a Buchman house so far. House prices in Buchman are rising all the time, it is difficult to know how high they will get. Garden apartments are asking over $300,000 and semi detached houses start from about $350,000. Houses vary quite a lot, each one has its own uniqueness, and some owners have spent a lot of money on improving their properties. Soon the railway will arrive and those who are dreaming of moving to Buchman might just find that in a short time the prices might of risen out of their reach. So if someone is interested in buying real estate in Buchman, now could very well be the best time.

Shabbat Shalom

Leave Olmert Alone !

People seem to hold such hatred for our prime minister. Israel is a civilised country. Most leaders are at least given a honeymoon period to sort things out. Ehud Olmert is the democratically elected prime minister of Israel. That means that the majority Israeli citizens elected him to run our country. When leaders are elected democratically, you don't have to agree to their ideas, but you have to respect the vote of the people and allow the elected leader to carry out his duties. If he does wrong or you disagree to his actions, there is the Knesset, legal demonstrations and media to challenge him. What is so undignified is the constant abuse written by so many disturbed people in different forums. Israel has just elected its 17th Knesset parliament, its history roller coaster. I surely would have liked to have heard the ideas of Yizhak Rabin and Ariel Sharon about Israel's future but someone vial and nauseating, who did not believe in democratic process murdered this great warrior of of Israel, Yizhak Rabin. Ariel Sharon also a great fighter and statesman is not able to help us at this moment. Whatever anyone's political beliefs, how dare anyone challenge our great leader's patriotism and love for their country. Now we have a new leader, terrible and painstaking decisions will have to be made, it is vital that Jewish people throughout the world show respect and understanding of Israel's democratic process and stand by its new prime minister. His success in his job is the wish and yearning of the Israeli people.

This blog has got nothing to do with my political views, but my belief in democracy and the Israeli people !

Modiin - Yishpro Centre

I have to write about Modiin's new Yishpro centre. This young shopping centre was opened last August and every day is becoming more and more successful. There is such a variety of good shops including a very large Mega supermarket, an Ace do it yourself  department store, a Superpharm drug store and an Office Depot store. The centre also has a Steimatzky book Shop, Klei Zemer musical instrument shop, a very large sport shop, an interesting wine shop, a large toy / gift shop, an amazing cooking shop, a fantastic soap shop and many other fine shops. Its not just shops to enjoy at Yishpro; There are many eating places including the best Humous I've ever tasted and Kosher too, there is a 10 pin bowling alley and snooker centre, and a 10 screen super modern cinema. There is also a health spa, I'm not sure if its opened yet, which should attract many. In December 2007 a railway station will open at the shopping centre too. So anybody who thinks that Modiin is not the city of the future should make a visit to the vibrant, dynamic and amazing Yishpro centre, an example of Modiin's future.

Happy Passover

Modiin

In my work, I have lived and visited many places throughout the world. No town has ever captured my heart as much as Modi'in. Its beauty is stunning, a city where most of its buildings are low and built with Jerusalem stone, and beautiful green parks flank almost every boulevard. Its children, in abundance, the future of Israel, playing peacefully in organized and clean play areas. A quiet and tolerant city, where religious and non religious live together, respecting each other. Modi'in is close to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and only fifteen minutes drive to Ben Gurion International Airport. It is surrounded by many exciting historical beauty spots, steeped in the wonders of Israel's past. This is today's Modi'in, a dream come true, with a future so vast and enticing, it can't be ignored. This is "my Modi'in".

Modiin Dog Walker

Its hard looking after dogs in Israel these days. Many families work long hours and have little time for their dogs. Dogs that are not walked on a regular basis can get very frustrated and destructive. So if you are out all day, you should definately consider hiring a reliable dog walker.Well if you need someone to regularyl walk your dogs in the Modiin vicinity, contact mike@dogiluf.com or phone Mike at 052 3604922 for  details.

Plane Crash on Masada

A light plane crashed on Masada this morning. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3237315,00.html   luckily not causing any loss of life, and not damaging any of the archaeological sites. I'll have to get my son to fly over Masada on his flight simulator. A far safer idea. Anyway, looking forward to an interesting week of coalition politics and Pesach celebrations.

Wishing Everybody

10 Cinemas open in Modiin

Last week 10 cinemas opened in Yishpro centre in Modiin. This is great news for Modiin, these cinemas will be a wonderful attraction for Modiin's citizens, especially its large young population. This shows that companies like Globus Groups realize the importance of Modiin, and see Modiin as one of  Israel's most promising and dynamic cities. If anybody wants to invest or live in Israel, Modiin has to be in their minds as a fantastic choice. Soon this little city will be the most enticing city in Israel.

Happy Passover

Spring more like winter in Israel

Just as the weather was getting quite hot, people had begun to irrigate their lawns, suddenly winter came back with a vengeance. Enormous amounts of rain during the last week. We even had a mini tornado in northen Israel. Anyhow besides a few tragedies due to the weather conditions, the rain is definately a wonderful blessing. The gardens are looking brighter, and much of the dust has been washed away. So now I'm optimistic that during the Pesach holiday season, the sun will be smiling on little Israel and its citizens and tourists will surely enjoy beautiful and sunny spring days.
