Peres implies that Israel could nuke Iran
Shimon Peres made a statement to reuters news agency saying that if Iran means to destroy Israel, Iran to could be wiped out by Israel. An article at

What is important is that Israel is a country whose people yearns for peace, but by the actions and aims of many of the Arab countries in her vicinity, Israel has to be tremendously strong and secure in order to defend herself and survive. I hope the new government in Israel will have the ability to act correctly and sensibly during these challenging and dangerous times, in order to protect the Israeli people from the wicked dreams of those yearning to wipe out Israel. I also hope for unity amongst Israelis, so that the efforts of Israel's leaders will be channelled against our enemies and not wasted on dealing with fanatics from within, trying to divide and tear Israel apart.
