I listened carefully to the doctors that operated on prime minister Sharon. It is quite clear that Sharon is in a very serious and dangerous state. It is hoped that he will open his eyes within 3 weeks, the longer it takes the more precarious his position will be. Nobody can know as of now if he will come round or what damage has happened to his brain. We can only pray that Ariel Sharon will pull through, if so it will take months, but be prepared that things can change for the worst. Meantime Israel and its elections must continue inspite of Sharons medical position. It is vital that Israel finishes its democratic process of electing a new prime minister elected by the people, not a stand in leader. Meantime Ehud Olmert has done a fine job this last last week, keeping calm and not making any mistakes. He seems a far more experienced and suitable leader than Amir Peretz, and as I can see it, that is what Israel needs at the moment, a strong and reliable leader, not too right or left wing, that can steer this beautiful nation through foggy and dangerous roads in the next few years.
As Ariel Sharon would probably say, if he only could: "Lets move forward" (kadima)
