It is difficult to understand the differences between the US and Israel with respect to special breed dogs.
I wish to relate our experiences with 2 ACC registered Pomeranians, or so we thought.
In the US Pomeranians are classified differently (most mini’s), they are all lumped together in one group Pomeranians. But in Israel they are separated into small or mini’s as with Pomeranians being 3-5pounds, anything else is a Klein Spitz (German name).
We had no idea until we went to register them and found out that they had to registered differently, not as pom’s but as Kleins.
Very annoying, luckily we had all the paperwork you could imagine so we trotted off to have a private showing by a very nice lady who was also a judge of pom’s in Israel and the operator of the Pomeranian club in Israel. She viewed the dogs, gave us the needed papers and sent us to the Klien club. For this we owe her a great deal.
Upon arrival at the Klien club our papers were reviewed and accepted, now our dogs are registered in Israel and we do not need to send the puppies off to the US each time we wish to sell registered dogs and they are worth a bit more too.
Hope this helps someone who thinks they can breed Pomeranians in Israel without hassles.
