Visiting Israel

Hi Travellers

I will be visiting Israel for the First time covering , Jordan, Egypt & Sinai Peninsular.

Places will be Petra, Cairo, Mt Sinai, Jerusalem, Galilee, Dead Sea, Bethlehem & etc.,

With the recent bombing in Jordan, how safe are we on the Middle East Countries

especially Israel.

I see even guides totting guns in the wailing wall and are we easy targets for

terrorists or become victims of a hostage ?

Please comment as I will be there in a months time & my tour guide says

it has no impending danger.

I dont know if the boders of Jordan is closed due to the spate of bombings in Hyatt,

suppose to be a safe area.

Thank you for your feedbacks.

Dear Zeus

I have been living in Israel for over 20 years. There is no place in the world that one can say is completely safe. Unfortunately that is the aim of those vicious terrorists that want to spread fear upon the whole world, including all the Arab countries. Israel has always known its share of terror, but this is a country experienced in  preventing the evil minds of these sub humans from carrying out their horrendous deeds. Israel is where the whole world will be in a few years. Security guards at every restaurant, school gates, shopping malls an in fact every public building. It was the same with El Al airlines, always years ahead with its security safeguards. We in Israel are not naive, we know that  distorted minds are continually planning shocking acts of terror, but we are a brave and peaceful country that has had to put most of its priorities in securing its people and all those visiting. Israel is such a beautiful country, steeped in endless fascinating sites of biblical history. There are many places throughout the world that I would steer clear, but in Israel I always feel that G-d and the finest and sadly the most experienced security services that the world has ever known is protecting me. I hope you come to visit, and that you have a peaceful and wonderful experience.

Dear Zeus

Take a look at the cartoon at http://www.jewishblogging.com/blog.php?bid=27999

I hope that puts your question in perspective.

Hi great guy & Admin,

Thank you for your prompt response. Maybe they dont target you as you are local

but terrorists can smell a fresh and warm foreign blood.

They must just enter a bus and blow us to pieces. Of course we do pray for protedtion from God Above.

How about your immigration & security at the airport.

I understand an Israeli visa is not necessary mean an easy  passport to enter your country as you

are still subject to subjudication.

Hope to be able to cross over the Israeli gates of paradise.
